About Extended Learning

Extended Learning supports the implementation and oversight of all non-credit courses and learning offerings that fall outside of traditional degrees. These opportunities are open to all internal and external learners and include, but are not limited to workforce development, continuing studies, community engagement, youth programs, leisure learning, and micro-credentials.

These offerings allow any individual the opportunity to increase confidence and maximize personal growth with accessible, affordable and achievable options that are professionally recognized.

Extended Learning is a part of Nipissing University's Centre for Teaching and Learning and is located in the Teaching Hub.

The Actua logo with the words

Actua is a leading Canadian Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) youth outreach organization. Each year, the Actua network engages over 500,000 youth in 600 communities across Canada in transformative STEM learning experiences that build critical skills and confidence.

Thanks to the funding Nipissing University receives from Actua, we are able to offer hands-on, engaging and transformative learning experiences in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math. The funding can provide participants with access to equipment, resources and materials to help build critical skills, and an interest in future STEM careers.
